    My life in Beijing,
I had always dreamed of traveling after university. But straight out of graduation and a fresh degree in hand, I was worried that a backpacker holiday would be a step back when kick starting my career. Beijing Auchan Transcom offered me the solution, immersing myself in an entirely new culture whilst gaining invaluable work experience.
Beijing was a distant land in my mind, where buildings resembled space ships, the night sky was lit up by billboards and noddle was on the menu. But Beijing exceeded every expectation I had. Futuristic buildings stand alongside historic mansions. Food can be eaten in delicious street stalls or 5 star internationally renowned restaurants. Streets are safe, the people are warm (except when behind the wheel of a car!).
In a city so daunting, I immediately had an apartment with awesome housemates and a new group of friends all doing different internships in the city.Whilst on my placement, the other interns and I were given many responsibilities including, organizing a business plan, developing social network of the company (creation of a Facebook page, Twitter, LinkedIn and Viadeo) and outsourcing. This was one of our earlier tasks, and we were trusted enough to do a good job.
I worked as a HR consultant. We also conducted both primary and secondary research regarding large new, multimillion pound developments in China, whilst also being allowed to sit in on important management meetings. I would have never expected that I would be given as much responsibility as I had and it showed how valued we were within the company.
We explored Beijing together, finding our favorite restaurants, bars and markets etc, whilst during the week we headed to work. I was fortunate enough to get a placement with Shui On Land, a property development company who build incredible complexes in China. Their most famous is an area in Beijing called Shuanjing. It's an area of renovated old 'shikumen' style houses that have been turned into beautiful boutique stores, international restaurants and a 5 star hotel. To say I love Beijing is a colossal understatement.
The opportunity for a great career is obvious. I was meant to be in Beijing for 6 months. I thought I had finished with my studies. I thought I'd be in Paris now hitting a 9-5pm job. My dream is to come back to Beijing as soon as possible and find a job. What does that tell you about my 'Beijing Auchan Transcom' experience?Khady eating Chinese food

My internship in Beijing was a very good experience. About the Personal aspect, I really liked Chinese Michelle Payet in Chinapeople very much because of their generosity and they are also helpful when you have any problem. People in this country are really open minded and to be honest I was really impressed by their culture and all differences you can find contrary to life in European countries. And really like it.
Moreover, being in Beijing was also an opportunity to visit some famous place as Great wall, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, Forbidden City and others …. Whouuu I really appreciated it and I advise future student to come and visit all those beautiful places.
About the professional aspect I think the agency put me in the best company.  Workers were lovely. I improved a lot in English and I became more professional thanks to what I learned in marketing and communication field and they do not hesitate to help if you have any problem.
To be honest I am bit sad to go back home because I really like my life in Beijing. Three months was too quick and I didn’t really see time. But I know and I am sure I will come back and I plan to work 1 year or more in China.
And I would like to Thanks the agency Beijing Auchan for giving me the opportunity to do this internship in good conditions.
